How it Works
Before Your Test
You'll receive detailed instructions by email as soon as you book, including links to Zoom and your unique answer sheet. You'll need to upload your photo ID at least 2 days before your scheduled test.
You'll Need:
- Computer/laptop with webcam
- Smartphone or tablet
- Reliable high-speed internet
During Your Test
- Join the Zoom session on your computer
- Complete identity verification with your assessor
- View test questions on Zoom while entering answers on your smartphone
- Get your results immediately after submitting
Assessment Requirements
Boat Licence: 30 questions — pass mark 80% (24/30)
PWC: 15 questions — pass mark 87% (13/15)

Most tests take 45–60 minutes.
After You Pass
We post your Certificate of Competency the same day.
Take it to any VicRoads office with your ID where you'll receive an interim licence while your permanent licence is processed and posted.
You'll need to complete an eyesight test and pay the licence fee at VicRoads.
